Abstract

There is no single medium to suit every crop. However, the salt mixture of Murashige and Skoog (1967) medium has proved satisfactory for many plants. For some plants, the level of salts in the MS medium is either toxic or unnecessarily high. The requirement of growth regulating substances varies with the system and mode of shoot multiplication. Skirvin and Chu (1979) on In vitro shoot tip proliferation of ‘Forever yours’ green house rose in high salt MS medium containing 2 mg/1 BA and 0.1 mg/1 NAA.
