Abstract

Purely local treatment for a malignant disease which has a tendency to metastasize to regional nodes would seem to be oncological heresy, all the more so when the regional nodes are not easily accessible for routine examination and when these nodes are often the first and temporarily the sole localization of metastatic spread.
