Functions of Macrophage Cell Lines

  • Chapter
Mononuclear Phagocytes

Abstract

Cell lines should not be used as models of normal cells simply because they exist. In this paper an attempt is made to demonstrate the superiority of cell lines for certain experiments on macrophage function, and to provide a summary of macrophage lines since the first review by Defendi (1976).
