Abstract

The determination of heat-flow density requires not only the temperature gradient, but also the thermal conductivity from boreholes taken at that depth, where the temperature gradient is determined. In so far, the published thermal conductivity values are without interest. Anyhow, there exist a few standard books, which have compiled all existing values, such as Birch (1942), Kappel-meyer and Haenel (1974), Roy et al. (1981), Čermák and Rybach (1982). On the other hand, thermal modelling down to great depth, e.g. down to the Mohorivićić discontinuity, needs representative values at appropriate temperatures and pressures (depth). Therefore, an attempt is made to group a few of them.
