Immunohistochemistry in Sarcomas

  • Chapter
Recent Concepts in Sarcoma Treatment

Part of the book series: Developments in Oncology ((DION,volume 55))

Abstract

The usefulness of immunohistochemistry in the diagnosis of sarcomas has certainly blossomed in recent years. Here, its overall importance in the diagnosis of soft tissue tumors will be documented and related to the clinical importance of proper sarcoma diagnosis. Secondly, specific markers will be briefly outlined and their limitations underscored. Last, new directions and approaches for the future using this technology will be proposed.
