Dechlorination of Brines for Membrane Cell Operation

  • Chapter
Modern Chlor-Alkali Technology

Abstract

One feature shared by mercury- and membrane-type chlor-alkali cells is the production of a depleted brine which is saturated with dissolved chlorine. The increased use and developing predominance of membrane cells have revived interest in processes for its removal.
