Zusammenfassung
Die Investition in Weiterbildungsprogramme – in 2007 waren es allein in Deutschland 27 Milliarden Euro (Lenske & Werner, 2009) – hätte wenig Sinn, wenn Gelerntes nicht am Arbeitsplatz verwendet und somit zur Verbesserung von Arbeitsleistung beitragen würde. In der Praxis jedoch wird selten überprüft, ob gelernte Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten tatsächlich auch Anwendung finden (vgl. Bergmann & Sonntag, 2006, oder auch Solga, Kap. 6: Evaluation der Personalentwicklung). Oft fehlt es an Zeit, Geld und Know-how, um Personalentwicklungsprogramme transferorientiert zu evaluieren.
