Zusammenfassung

Die heutige Psychiatrie ist bemüht, möglichst viele Menschen mit seelischen Problemen bzw. geistig-seelischen Erkrankungen außerhalb eines Krankenhauses zu behandeln. Ist ein Krankenhausaufenthalt unvermeidlich, so soll er möglichst kurz dauern.

Zielsetzung der psychiatrischen Versorgung muß die Erhaltung und Förderung bzw. Wiedererlangung der psychosozialen Integration sein. Dazu ist die Verfügbarkeit eines Betreuungsangebotes notwending, das eine wohnortnahe, koordinierte, kontinuierliche und bei Bedarf auch mobile psychosoziale Hilfestellung ermöglicht.

Wien wurde daher in acht „psychosoziale Versorgungsregionen“ für je 200.000 Einwohner geteilt. Für jede dieser Regionen sieht der Wiener „Psychiatrie-Zielplan“ eine eigene Psychosoziale Station vor, die jeweils alle notwendingen ambulanten, teilstationären und ergänzenden Einrichtungen umfassen soll.

Die Planung, Errichtung und Führung dieser Versorgungseinrichtungen erfolgt durch das seit 1980 bestehende „Kuratorium für Psychosoziale Dienste in Wien“.

Summary

Psychiatry of today is concerned with providing treatment outside a hospital for as many people as possible suffering from emotional problems or mental and emotional disturbances. Should a stay in hospital prove unavoidable, then it should be kept as short as possible.

The aim of psychiatric treatment must be the attainment and promotion or extension of psychosocial integration. To this end, it is required that a service be available which makes possible psychosocial care which is close to home, which is co-ordinated, which is continuous, and, if required, which is also mobile.

Vienna has accordingly been divided into eight psychosocial service regions, one for every 200.000 inhabitants. The Vienna “Psychiatry Target Plan” makes provision for each of these regions to have its own Psychosocial Centre, each of which should encompass all the necessary outpatient, semistationary ans supplementary facilities.

The planning, setting up, and conducting of these care facilities is carried out by the “Kuratorium für Psychosoziale Dienste in Wien” (abbreviated as PSD, an independent body commissioned by the municipal authorities of Vienna for the purposes of providing psychosocial services in the city of Vienna), which has been in existence since 1980.
