Abstract
The deuteron D-state probability and the spin polarization correlation coefficient C// for the \(^3\overrightarrow {He} {(\overrightarrow d ,p)^4}He\) reaction were investigated at a deuteron lab energy Ed = 270 MeV in the p+n+3He three-body Hilbert space. Here the Faddeev-Born Approximation was treated with the realistic NN and N-3He interactions, because the observables involve the forward proton scattering cross section at high energy. We present theoretical predictions for thirteen different deuteron wave functions from realistic potentials. The calculated results of C// are about a factor of 2 larger than the experimental value. A physical interpretation of discrepancies is presented based upon a five-body system picture.
