Zusammenfassung
Viele riskante gesundheitsbezogene Verhaltensweisen erreichen im Jugendalter ihre höchste Ausprägung und auch andere gesundheitsbezogene Verhaltensweisen verändern sich systematisch im Laufe des Jugendalters. Zudem gehören riskante Verhaltensweisen zu den wichtigsten Todesursachen Jugendlicher. Deshalb ist das Jugendalter ein wichtiger Zeitraum für Maßnahmen der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung. Am Anfang des Kapitels wird ein Überblick über Veränderungen der Gesundheit und von gesundheitsbezogenen Verhaltensweisen im Jugendalter und über darauf wirkende Einflussfaktoren gegeben. Im Anschluss daran werden Befunde zur Wirksamkeit der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung bei Jugendlichen – überwiegend anhand von Metaanalysen – vorgestellt. Da die meisten dieser Maßnahmen im Mittel nur kleine und zum Teil sogar nur sehr kleine Effekte erzielen, werden anschließend Faktoren herausgearbeitet, welche mit einer überdurchschnittlichen Wirksamkeit – oftmals bezogen auf einen bestimmten Altersbereich – einhergehen. Abschließend werden Schlussfolgerungen für die künftige Praxis und Forschung gezogen.
