Zusammenfassung
Mit dem demografischen Wandel und der steigenden Inzidenz von chronischen Erkrankungen stieg auch die Anzahl der Notfalleinsätze. Demgegenüber stehen der Ärztemangel und der zunehmende Kostendruck im Rettungsdienst. Die Hilfsfristen, die in den Landesgesetzen unterschiedlich beschrieben sind, können vielfach nicht mehr eingehalten werden. Die Einführung des Telenotarztes als zusätzliche ärztliche Kompetenz im Rettungsdienst konnte in einigen Regionen bereiteine Optimierung der notärztlichen Verfügbarkeit bewirken. Dabei konnte das ärztliche therapiefreie Intervall verkürzt und die ärztliche Bindungszeit weiter reduziert werden. Neben einer Steigerung der Dokumentationsqualität waren hohe Qualitätsstandards bei standardisierten Therapien in zahlreichen Studien nachweisbar.
