Abstract

Conceptual modeling play an important role in software development. In initial phase of conceptual modeling domain models are constructed. They should be consistent with the reality they intend to present. Existing ontologies can be perceived as a valuable source for domain knowledge. The paper presents a method supporting development of domain models on the base of knowledge represented by a domain ontology. The main benefit of the method is that the developed domain model preserves consistency with the domain ontology in the context of the given domain problem. The proposed method is illustrated by an example.
