Abstract

The Main objective of the current work is to evaluate the trust of service provider in a fair manner. Fairness is introduced by considering the type of service(IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) accessed by the cloud user. While updating the trust value, the type of service accessed is not usually considered. Proposed approach identifies the type of service and updates the trust accordingly. In the literature several works exist for trust evaluation, but no attempt are made to evaluate trust in a fair manner. In this work, quantitative approaches are proposed to evaluate trust in a fair manner. Recursive nature of the proposed method restricts the time complexity to linear. Since cloud computing provides three types of services, it becomes vital to consider the type of service along with trust value. This enables the future users to access the precisely trusted providers according to their requirement. The dynamic nature of cloud computing challenges the trust evaluation by frequently changing the behavioral pattern. The quantitative metrics used in this work also addresses this problem. Simulation results showed good performance improvement over available methods towards QoS metrics.
