Limiting Processes in Lithium Solid State Cells

  • Conference paper
Solid State Materials

Abstract

The voltage during the course of discharge of a lithium solid state electrochemical cell depends on a large number of physical and chemical properties of the components and interfaces. The processes likely to be of most importance and their dependence on the current density are described, with the intention of providing a quantitative basis for the design of cells and for conditions of experiments. The emphasis is on defining and comparing characteristic times for the processes involved.
