The Usefulness of Potato Resistance to Ralstonia solanacearum, for the Integrated Control of Bacterial Wilt

  • Chapter
Bacterial Wilt Disease

Abstract

Moderate resistance to bacterial wilt of potato caused by Ralstonia solanacearum race 3, a primarily tuber seed borne disease of cool climates, has facilitated the production of wilt-free tuber seed in moderate soil inoculum potential situations in the highland tropics when integrated disease management has been practiced. Higher levels of resistance are available.
