Zusammenfassung

Zu den für die Europäische Integration wichtigsten Debatten in den letzten Jahren zählten die über eine Legitimitätskrise der Europäischen Union und nach den Mechanismen zur Überwindung dieser Krise (Arnull/Wincott 2002; Karolewski/Kaina 2006; Marks/Hooghe 2003; Moravcsik 2003, 2006; Thomassen/Schrnitt 1999). Aus dieser Diskussion entstand seitens der verantwortlichen Entscheidungsträger eine Vielzahl an politischen und institutionellen Veränderungen.
