Abstract
Since Eiseman et al. (1965) introduced the concept of hepatic assist by ex vivo liver perfusion, many authors have applied the technique for the treatment of patients with hepatic coma. This is the report of our own experiences obtained in 21 clinical liver perfusions for the treatment of 17 episodes of deep hepatic coma in 12 patients.
