Zusammenfassung

Thannhauser unterschied 1929 als erster zwischen primärer und sekundärer Gicht, wobei er die sekundäre Gicht als Folge einer „schweren, anatomisch sichtbaren Nierenerkrankung“ ansah. Diese Definition Thannhausers wurde zunächst nicht zur Kenntnis genommen oder vergessen. Die endgültige Einführung des Begriffs „sekundäre Gicht“ erfolgte durch Gutman (1953), der diese Bezeichnung allerdings in erster Linie für die Gicht bei Blutkrankheiten mit vermehrtem Zellumsatz verwen dete. Zöllner (1960) hat die Definitionen von Thannhauser und Gutman erstmals zusammengefaßt und darauf hingewiesen, daß sekundäre Hyperurikämie und sekundäre Gicht nicht nur bei Krankheiten des Bluts und der Nieren, sondern auch bei anderen Krankheiten (z. B. Glykogenspeicherkrankheit Typ I) vorkommen können.
