Erythroblastosis Fetalis

  • Chapter
Nonhuman Primates

Part of the book series: Monographs on Pathology of Laboratory Animals ((LABORATORY))

Abstract

The gross lesions of erythroblastosis fetalis are nonspecific. The appearance of hydrops fetalis, although often connected with stillbirth caused by erythroblastosis fetalis, can be caused by other conditions. Hepatosplenomegaly almost invariably accompanies hemolytic disease of the newborn and its degree reflects the severity of the underlying disease.
