Abstract
Ever since the original description of the first CT scanner, the diagnostic value of CT scanning in neuroophthalmology has been emphasized (1,2,10,11). The advent of the so-called second generation, or whole-body scanners, in 1974 widened the possibilities of this technique by allowing a much wider choice of tomographic planes, particularly useful in examining the orbits and the sellar region (8,16).
