Abstract

The multifarious applications of organotin compounds (OTC) led to a rapid increase in production since their first use in 1936 (Zuckerman et al. 1978). The annual production of OTC was 63 000 ton in 1986 and is still on the increase (Blunden and Chapman 1986; Müller et al. 1989; Donard and Pinel 1989; and literature cited therein). The major application fields and the specific compounds are listed in Table 10.1.
