Kinetic Studies on Propene Polymerization using Magnesium Dichloride Supported Ziegler — Natta Catalysts

Abstract

This paper summarises the results of kinetic, active centre and morphological studies obtained using a number of magnesium dichloride-based catalysts when used for the polymerization of propene. In particular studies on polymerization systems using high activity catalysts such as:

MgCl2 (ball milled) / EB / TiCl4 — TEA

MgCl2 (ball milled) / EB / TiCl4 — TEA/MPT

MgCl2 (spherical) / DIBP / TiCl4 — TEA

MgCl2 (spherical) / DIBP / TiCl4 — TEA/DPDMS

MgCl2 (ethoxide type) / DNBP / TiCl4 — TEA

MgCl2 (ethoxide type) / DNBP / TiCl4 — TEA/DPDMS

are reported and the kinetic behavior of the systems analysed.
