Abstract

Inequality changes and income growth are two of the most important issues which concern economic policy-makers. Evaluation of these two economic phenomena is, accordingly, a central problem in the field of applied welfare economics. Indeed it is the issue of prime concern in the literature on the social welfare approach to inequality measurement.
