Part of the book series: Monographs on Pathology of Laboratory Animals ((LABORATORY))

Abstract

A cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma in an adult male CD-I mouse was described as a well-demarcated raised pale focus, 3–4 mm in diameter, in the left ventricular wall (Gregson 1984). Experimentally induced neoplasms were indicated to be solid masses which were wet and gray on cut surface (Perk and Moloney 1988). Rhabdomyosarcomas have been reported in CD-I mice (Percy and Jonas 1971), B6C3F1 mice (Ward et al. 1979), and female BALB/c mice (Sheldon and Greenman 1979), but the gross appearance of the neoplasms was not described.
