Die Fortpflanzung ist eine Aufgabe, bei deren Lösung der Evolutionsdruck zahlreiche ungewöhnliche Varianten hervorgebracht hat. Die enormen Schwie-rigkeiten, die einzelne Paare der Gattung Homo sapiens und ihre Medizi auf ihrem Weg überwinden müssen, sind in der Abb. 1 durchaus treffend dargestellt. Wir, das heißt die Immunhämatologen, leisten normalerweise selten, aber vielleicht doch nicht ganz erfolglos, Hilfestellung.
