Zusammenfassung

Bei endoskopischen Untersuchungen sind zahlreiche Infektionsmöglichkeiten zu beachten, die sich im wesentlichen drei verschiedenen Ursachengruppen zuordnen lassen. Selten kann die endoskopische Untersuchung mit einem infektionshygienisch einwandfreien Endoskop zu einer autologen Infektion führen. Klinisch relevant und größer ist das Infektionsrisiko durch die Übertragung pathogener Keime mit dem Endoskop von einem Patienten auf andere. Schließlich können opportunistische Keime wie Pseudomonas aeruginosa in geringsten Keimmengen in und an den benutzten Geräten trotz vorschriftsmäßiger Desinfektion persistieren, bei ordnungsgemäßer Lagerung der Geräte sich erheblich vermehren und bei Wiederverwendung dieser Geräte in den Patienten inokuliert werden.
