Abstract

The availability of subpicosecond optical pulses at high repetition rates now greatly extends the capabilities of time-resolved spectroscopy. Powerful signal averaging techniques can be applied to picosecond studies. Measurements with 10-13 sec resolution or better can be made without distorting the process under investigation. In this paper we describe the further extension of these subpicosecond techniques to high intensity and to broadband wavelength tunability.
