Abstract
This chapter deals with two aspects of the adrenergic neuron: a) with its electrical properties in the resting and active state, and b) with electrical events induced in this neuron by chemical agents. This review is restricted to the (peripheral) sympathetic adrenergic neuron, since the adrenergic neurons of the central nervous system, whose topography is actually being studied intensively, have, for obvious technical reasons, so far escaped investigations by electrophysiological methods.
