Abstract

The electrophoretic mobility of colloidal particles in an electric field is generally measured with an apparatus such as the one illustrated on Fig. 1. This apparatus is mainly composed of a microscope with a micrometer, a transparent cell (of circular or rectangular cross-section), or a circular or rectangular doublepath cell, and electrodes with a direct current generator.
