Abstract
Spirulina is a genus of blue-green algae belonging to the family of Oscillatoriaceae. The two species which are most commonly utilized are Spirulina platensis and Spirulina maxima [1,2]. In India, Spirulina fusiformis is also regarded as a source plant [3].
