Abstract
This is a classification of endocrine tumours and tumour-like lesions of the anterior pituitary, adrenal, parathyroid, pancreas, and the diffuse endocrine system. It is based primarily on microscopic characteristics of the tumours, but, where appropriate, it incorporates diagnostically useful immunohistological findings. The most important immunohistological findings helpful in categorising endocrine tumours are summarised in Table 1 (see p.2).
