Osteoporose ist definiert als „eine Krankheit, die durch eine geringe Knochensubstanz und die Zerstörung des Mikroaufbaus des Knochengewebes charakterisiert ist, was zu einer größeren Knochenbrüchigkeit und folglich zu einem größeren Knochenbruchrisiko führt“.
