Abstract
Rapid progress has been made in the last few years1 on pico-second and femto-second lasers and related experimental techniques for studying ultrafast processes in various materials, including the dynamics of hot carriers in semiconductors. Of particular interest are GaAs and related compounds and structures, which are important for modern high-speed electronic devices, for example.
