Abstract

It would be pretentious to state that I have found it easy to satisfy Professor Bargmann’s request to make some concluding remarks to this rich and extensive symposium. Indeed, I have found it a most formidable task, especially in view of the diversity and quantity of material presented. In seeking a point of departure which would universally be considered virtuous, I have settled on the virtue of brevity. I shall consider only a few points which I find particularly compelling as a consequence of the discussions we have had.
