Synthesis of Saturated Oxygenated Heterocycles I

Part of the book series: Topics in Heterocyclic Chemistry ((TOPICS,volume 35))

Abstract

This chapter outlines the advances that have been made in the synthesis of substituted tetrahydrofurans over the period of time from 2005 to 2012. Included are nucleophilic substitutions, [3+2]-cycloadditions, oxidative cyclizations, and the ring opening of bicyclic oxanorbornenes as well as the application of these methods to the generation of tetrahydrofuran-containing natural products.
