Zusammenfassung
Allergische Erkrankungen manifestieren sich häufig im Kindes- und Jugendalter. Der Diagnostik und Therapie muss besondere Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet werden, da ein chronisch-progredienter Krankheitsverlauf mit einer größeren Symptomlast einhergeht. Kinder und Jugendliche müssen von einem Pädiater mit einer entsprechenden allergologischen Zusatzweiterbildung gesehen werden, da es für viele Krankheitsbilder altersspezifische Differenzialdiagnosen gibt. Dies gilt z. B. für die atopische Dermatitis (DD u. a. primäre Immundefekte) oder das Asthma bronchiale (DD u. a. zystische Fibrose). In der Umsetzung therapeutischer Empfehlungen sind die Aspekte der Schulung von Kindern und Eltern von besonderer Bedeutung. Für einige Krankheitsbilder (z. B. Insektengiftallergie) unterscheidet sich die Prognose und damit die Herangehensweise bei Kindern von Erwachsenen. Schließlich ist die Möglichkeit der primären Prävention von atopischen Erkrankungen im Säuglings- und Kleinkindalter eine Besonderheit der Kinderallergologie. Maßnahmen sind hier z. B. die Vermeidung einer Passivrauchexposition sowie Empfehlungen zur Säuglingsernährung.
