Abstract

To deal with the problem of shape distortion and the poor adaptation in denoising of fabric textures, a denoising method based on hidden Markov tree (HMT) in wavelet domain for jacquard fabric images is proposed. The wavelet-domain HMT model is built and the parameters of HMT model are estimated by EM algorithm. Experimental results show that the method can effectively denoise fabric images and is a better method for fabric images than the classical image denoising methods. It also increases PNSR and perfectly preserves the shapes of fabric texture while denoising.
