Abstract

• Holding the testis firmly with the skin held taught (Fig. 1), make a transverse incision in the hemiscrotum. Deepen slowly through the layers (Fig. 2) until the testis, in its tunica albuginea, is free.

• Deliver the testis from the scrotum, everting the tunica vaginalis, and inspect the testis and cord structures.

• If a torted hydatid of Morgagni is found (Fig. 3), grasp it with toothed forceps and use bipolar diathermy to excise it at the base. Ensure the testis is not torted and then proceed to closure.
