1 Einführung
In den Gleichungen zur Beschreibung des Wärmetransports sind immer Stoffeigenschaften als Parameter enthalten, die einen mehr oder weniger großen Einfluss auf das Ergebnis für den Wärmestrom ausüben. So gehen z.B. bei der Berechnung des Wärmeübergangs bei erzwungener einphasiger Konvektion die Wärmeleitfähigkeit, die dynamische Viskosität, die Dichte und die spezifische Wärmekapazität ein.
Kommt wie bei der freien Konvektion die Fluidbewegung durch Temperaturunterschiede im Schwerefeld zustande, so ist zusätzlich noch die Abhängigkeit der Dichte von der Temperatur wesentlich. Findet ein Phasenwechsel statt (z.B. Verdampfung oder Kondensation), benötigt man zur Festlegung der Temperatur an der Phasengrenze die Dampfdruckkurve und zur Bestimmung der umgesetzten Wärmeströme die Verdampfungsenthalpie.
