Zusammenfassung
Das Hüftgelenk des menschlichen Körpers erscheint nur auf den ersten Blick als ein ideales Kugelgelenk. Einem nur im Prinzip sphärischen Gelenkkörper, dem Caput femoris, steht das Segment einer Hohlkugel, die Facies lunata, gegenüber. Überraschend dabei ist, dass die Fläche der Gelenkpfanne nur etwa 50 % der Gelenkfläche des Kopfes entspricht. In der im frontalen Röntgenbild eindrucksvoll darstellbaren Hüftgelenkpfanne steht also nur ein kleiner Teil zur Lastübertragung zur Verfügung (Abb. 2.1).
