Zusammenfassung
Der Volkswagen Konzern mit Sitz in Wolfsburg ist einer der führenden Automobilhersteller weltweit und der größte Automobilproduzent Europas. Der Konzern betreibt 61 Fertigungsstätten mit fast 370.000 Beschäftigten. Aufgrund der Vielseitigkeit der betriebenen Logistiksysteme (von regionalen Gebietsspeditionssystemen bis zu weltumspannenden Transportketten) und deren globalen Vernetzung sind diese ständig einer großen Zahl unterschiedlicher Wandlungstreibern unterworfen. Aktuelle Bemühungen an mehreren Stellen des Konzerns zielen in diesem Kontext insbesondere auf eine bessere Auslastung der Transportkapazitäten durch eine integrierte Programm- und Transportplanung.
