Abstract
Protein contact with the skin can be associated with two major clinical conditions: immunological contact urticaria (ICU) and protein contact dermatitis (PCD), of which the latter will be discussed here. This chapter reviews the pathogenesis, clinical pictures and the causal proteins, most of which are responsible for occupation-related skin problems, i.e. fruits, vegetables, spices, plants and woods, animal proteins, grains and enzymes.
