Zusammenfassung
Diese Definition ist rein klinisch orientiert, weshalb wir die histologisch orientierte WHO-Klassifikation von 1994, die wir in der 2. Auflage dieses Buches benutzt hatten, noch einmal wiedergeben: Das Chondroblastom wurde 1931 von Codman zum ersten Mal beschrieben, und zwar als „epiphysärer chondromatöser Riesenzelltumor des proximalen Humerus“. (1942) erkannten den primären knorpeligen Charakter des Tumors und führten die Bezeichnung „benignes Chondroblastom“ ein. Neuerdings und insbesondere in Deutschland wird für den Tumor der einfache Begriff „Chondroblastom“ benutzt.
