Abstract

Ideally, the demand for wireless access to web servers should not lead to a duplication of services. The major restriction imposed by mobile clients concerns the amount of information that is to be transferred from a server to the client and the presentation capability. We show that the theory of media types is suitable to cope with these restrictions having just one server specification that can automatically be tailored to the client needs. In particular, it is possible to generate presentations that are suitable for mobile clients.
