Abstract

Occasionally it happens that, while researching a particular subject, one encounters a previously unfamiliar field that turns out to be surprisingly appropriate and applicable. This is what occurred to me when, in investigating techniques for capturing the semantics of object-oriented programs, I came across graph transformations.
