Das Konzept der Therapeutischen Landschaften

Zusammenfassung

Im Zuge des cultural turn der Humangeographie begann die Medizinische Geographie das biomedizinische Krankheitsmodell kritisch zu hinterfragen und wandelte sich zu einer postmedizinischen, salutogenetisch orientierten Geographie der Gesundheit, als deren Leitparadigma das Konzept der Therapeutischen Landschaften anzusehen wird. Es stellt den Rahmen für eine mehrdimensionale Analyse der gesundheitswirksamen Interaktionen von Menschen mit Orten und Landschaften. Längst hat es die anfängliche Fokussierung auf außergewöhnliche (Natur-)Landschaften abgelegt und wird genutzt, um Gesundheit und Gesundheitsförderung im Kontext großer aktueller Herausforderungen wie Globalisierung, Ökonomisierung, Urbanisierung, Postkolonialismus, Mobilität, Kommunikation und Umweltgerechtigkeit einzuordnen und zu thematisieren. Inzwischen liegen zahlreiche, methodisch und thematisch sehr diverse empirische Untersuchungen vor, und auch zum Verständnis der wirkenden Mechanismen wurden interessante und weiter entwickelbare Ansätze vorgestellt.
