Zusammenfassung
Unabhängig vom spezifischen inhaltlichen Gegenstand zeichnet sich jegliche Politik durch eine Reihe gleichartiger und zugleich zentraler Merkmale aus; so auch die Kommunikationspolitik. Potentielle kommunikationspolitische Aktivitäten bedeuten demzufolge instrumentelles Handeln, das sich an realen und/oder theoretischen Alternativen orientiert, durch Zielorientierung gekennzeichnet ist und vor allem für die Zielerreichung Relevanz besitzt. Aus der Sicht unternehmerischer oder sonstiger Organisationen wird auf diesem Weg versucht, Veränderungsprozesse einzuleiten und Veränderungen zu bewirken oder negativen Entwicklungen entgegenzutreten, d. h. sie möglichst zu verhindern. Verhaltenswissenschaftlich ausgedrückt, sollen mittels kommunikationspolitischer Aktivitäten Erleben und Verhalten der Adressaten im Sinne der kommunikativ agierenden organisatorischen Einheit positiv beeinflußt werden.
