Abstract

In this paper, we are going to develop a tool allowing the identification of recommended medicinal plant names. This tool is based on local grammars built in the linguistic platform NooJ. The developed tool is based on two processes: selection of criteria and identification of the appropriate plant. The first process consists in introducing criteria, such as age, symptoms, sex, contraindication. All these information are inserted in a format developed with Java. The content of this format is saved inside texts which are used as input for the linguistic platform NooJ. The second process consists in parsing the text generated with the procedure of first process, and in identifying the appropriate medicinal plant. This step is based on transducers that represent different rules allowing the recognition of the recommended plant. The system developed is easy to use and does not require computer skills. It gives also consistent results.
