Abstract
Staging is of major importance for prognostic evaluation and treatment planning in patients with soft tissue sarcomas. This chapter focuses on the role of radiology in oncologic and local staging, follow-up and repeat staging. The value of MR imaging for assessment of local tumor spread is emphasized, and diagnostic criteria for determining tumor size and depth, neurovascular encasement, bone involvement, and joint invasion are specified.
