Definitions

Public interest: It is the outcomes attained when government leaders discharge their obligations for long-run survival and well-being of the society particularly public institutions providing quality services to the citizenry.

Government institutions: Offices established by law and financed by tax payers’ money to foster the benefit of the general public.

Introduction

Serving the public is a fundamental mission of government institutions. This duty transforms a civic ideal into a responsibility for government managers.
